Astonished. Sad. Surprised. Each in turn over many years. Your skin, especially in eyes and forehead areas most senses your emotions. Wrinkles appearing on the forehead may be enhancing until some point. But as we age, our skin loses its firmness, eyes start to look sleepy, eyebrows droop. You give the impression of being constantly worried or tired, even though you are well-rested.
Surgical forehead lifting is recommended to people who find non-invasive cosmetic treatments insufficient and would like to get spectacular and long-lasting rejuvenation results. As we age, the most common procedures such as Botox, PDO threads, or lasers cannot effectively manage sagging skin and deep wrinkles on the forehead. Surgical forehead lifting is suggested for 40+ patients.
How forehead lifting looks like?
Under local anesthesia or twilight sedation the surgeon makes an incision at the hairline. At below picture you can see the exact location of the incision. Then excess skin is removed and the underlying tissue lifted upwards, causing wrinkles to smooth out. The procedure lasts around 2 hours. For 14 days after the surgery, the patient must wear an elastic band on the forehead. This post-op dressing applies external pressure on the forehead and supports the healing process.
Surgical forehead lifting makes the face look visibly younger, refreshed and rested. The final result is visible after roughly two months post-op. For the best rejuvenating effect, forehead lifting can be combined with eyebrow lifting and/ or blepharoplasty.
The scar is located at the hairline. Such location makes it barely noticeable. For stitching Dr. Osuch uses fine surgical threads, thus the scar is very thin. Even if you slick hair back, it is barely visible. Initially, just after surgery, the scar is red but over time it becomes pale and whiter. To support the process of scar healing, a patient should follow surgeon’s guidelines such as applying a silicone gel and not exposing the scar to the sun for a year after the procedure.
Before and after forehead lift
This patient in her early sixties came to us to improve appearance of her upper face. She particularly wanted to rejuvenate eyes, eyebrows and the forehead. Combined forehead and eyebrow liftings were performed. Dr. Osuch repositioned her eyebrows and removed sagging skin. As a result, deep wrinkles on the forehead have smoothed out, and the whole upper part of the face became visibly younger. Sometimes to get similar result of more open eyes, upper eye lifting under local anesthesia can be performed.

If under sedation/ general anesthesia, you will be asked to have lab tests done in your home country and send the results to us two weeks before your surgery.
