Falling eyebrows, a characteristic feature of a mature face, are one of the ‘souvenirs’ which time and gravity leaves on the face. Sad, droopy eyebrows are the result of sagging skin and fat loss in the area of eyebrows, forehead and temples.
Generally speaking, eyebrows line can be improved by more or less invasive methods. Younger patients typically start with PDO threads or Botox injections which produce great effects. As we age, to get clear rejuvenation, a surgical eyebrow lifting is the only reasonable option. Very often, to achieve an uplifted and rejuvenated appearance, upper blepharoplasty (eye lifting) can be performed instead of a brow lift.
How the procedure looks like?
Eyebrow lifting can be performed under local anesthesia or twilight sedation. The incisions are made in the hairline to ensure almost invisible scars. The underlying tissues (muscles and facia) are repositioned, and excessive skin is removed. In this way the eyebrows can be re-designed in the classic 2/3–1/3 line. After the procedure, the patient stays in the clinic for up to 24 hours if the procedure was performed under sedation. The initial swelling and bruising which can be seen immediately after the procedure, subside after two weeks. The full effect of the brow lift is visible 6–8 weeks post-op. The brow lift is frequently combined with a forehead lift and blepharoplasty (eye lifting). In such case we achieve a spectacular rejuvenation of the whole upper part of the face.
The post-eyebrow scar is hidden in the hairline. For roughly two weeks after sutures removal, the scar should not be touched. Later on, a silicone gel can be applied. In order to avoid discoloration, a patient should avoid exposure to the sun or protect the scar with high solar filters.
Before and after eyebrow lift
Eyebrow lifting can have various effects such as:
- Smoothing out deep wrinkles in the eye area
- Raising eyebrow line
- Visible and spectacular rejuvenation of the upper face
- Giving sleepy eyes more youthful and refreshed appearance
This woman in her early sixties disliked her drooping eyebrows, sagging skin on upper eyelids and deep wrinkles on her forehead. To resolve such concerns, the surgeon can choose between upper blepharoplasty or eyebrow lifting. In this case, to reposition her eyebrows, the latter was performed. Also, forehead lifting was done to remove excess sagging skin. As a result, her eyes are wider open and upper face is visibly younger. Both procedures were performed under sedation.
Price
The price of the eyebrow lift is given here. The price is fixed and refers to the surgical modelling of both eyebrows. It includes anesthesia, procedure, stay in the clinic, follow-up visits, and suture removal. If an eyebrow lift is combined with other procedures such as eye lift or forehead lift, total price is given individually.
